Our Fielding Approach
Our approach is to identify each individual hitter’s swing. We also study the way their bodies move so we can teach them the correct mechanics for that individual. We work very closely with the hitter to get them in a batting stance that works for them. We teach them to improve their timing and movements to get their barrels to stay in the zone as long as possible.
SOFT HANDS
We practice many drills designed to improve the softness of the hands all the way from fielding the baseball to throwing it.
FOOTWORK
Our fielding revolves around having quick agile feet. We work on improving the quickness and timing of the feet to field the ground ball the correct way.
WORKING THROUGH THE BASEBALL
We will work on keeping our infielder’s feet and hands moving. We will also work on the correct timing, in order to field the baseball the right way.
THROWING
Fielding the ball is not enough to record the outs. We will teach the proper techniques from every angle to make quality throws for every position.
HAND EYE COORDINATION
The better the hand-eye coordination the better the athlete. We use drills for hand-eye coordination to help our infielders react especially on ground balls that take bad hops.
FIELDING IQ
You can’t just sit back on your heels and relax while playing defense. You always have somewhere to be on the field at all times.
